Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
