Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
