The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
