We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
