In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 Whether or not you express (your thoughts) in words, God certainly knows all unspoken thoughts and all that is even more difficult to find. 7 Allah! no God there is but he! His are the names excellent. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 “Indeed it is Me, Allah – there is no God except I – therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 He said, “Put it down, O Moosa! 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 "Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant)." 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
