A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is just a man who invents a lie about God; we cannot believe in him." 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 We then sent our Noble Messengers, one after another; whenever a nation’s Noble Messenger came to it they denied him, We therefore united the succeeding with the old, and made them history; so far removed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
