Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
