۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
