Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
