WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 But does man not bear in mind that We have created him aforetime out of nothing? 67 So, by thy Lord, without doubt, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Evil Ones (with them); then shall We bring them forth on their knees round about Hell; 68 Then We will surely extract from every sect those of them who were worst against the Most Merciful in insolence. 69 and then We shall know well all those most worthy to be cast in Hell. 70 And every one of you will come within sight of it: this is, with thy Sustainer, a decree that must be fulfilled. 71 We shall then rescue the pious – and leave the unjust in it, fallen on their knees. 72 And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans of Quraish who live a life of luxury) say to those who believe (the weak, poor companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW who have a hard life): "Which of the two groups (i.e. believers and disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station (place of council for consultation)." 73 And many a generation We did destroy before them, who exceeded them in wealth and pomp! 74 Say: 'Whosoever is in error, let the Most Merciful prolong his life span until they see that which they were threatened, be it a punishment, or the Hour. Then shall they know whose is the worst place and who is weaker in hosts' 75 God increases His guidance to those who follow guidance; and lasting good works are better in the sight of your Lord and are most rewarding. 76 Hast thou observed him who disbelieveth in Our signs and saith: surely I shall be vouchsafed riches and children. 77 Hath he looked unto the Unseen, or hath he taken of the Compassionate a covenant? 78 Nay! We shall record what he says, and We shall lengthen the length of his suffering [in the hereafter,] 79 To Us shall return all that he talks of and he shall appear before Us bare and alone. 80 And they have chosen (other) gods beside Allah that they may be a power for them. 81 But nay! [On Judgment Day] these [very objects of adoration] will disavow the worship that was paid to them, and will turn against those [who had worshipped them]! 82
