The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
