Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
