And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 "And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Harun (Aaron) (to come along with me). 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
