Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble recorders, 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
