And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Even then they say: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
