Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
