The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
