The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
