Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
