Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
