The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the sun and its light 1 And by oath of the moon when it follows the sun 2 The day when it reveals his radiance, 3 The night when it covers him over, 4 By the heaven and Who built it, 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 The soul and how it was integrated 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. 9 And he who confines it will surely come to grief. 10 The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing, 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 and He fears not the issue thereof. 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
