And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 “Therefore approach Firaun then proclaim, ‘We both are Noble Messengers of the Lord Of The Creation.’ 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
