The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 that hide, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the breath of morning 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
