The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
