Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
The righteous (will be) amid gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water). 45 Enter therein in peace, secure. 46 And We remove whatever rancour may be in their breasts. As brethren, face to face, (they rest) on couches raised. 47 There shall touch them no toil therein, nor therefrom they shall ever be driven out. 48 ۞ (Muhammad), tell My servants that I am All-forgiving and All-merciful 49 At the same time, My chastisement is highly painful. 50 And tell them about the guests (the angels) of Ibrahim (Abraham). 51 When the angels came to him and said, “Peace"; he said, “We feel afraid of you.” 52 Said they: "Fear not! Behold, we bring thee the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who will be endowed with deep knowledge." 53 He said, "Do you bring me such news despite my old age? What kind of good news are you bringing me?" 54 They said, "We have, indeed, given you glad tidings in truth; do not therefore despair." 55 He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray? 56 [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 57 They said, 'We have been sent unto a people of sinners, 58 excepting the household of Lot. We shall deliver all of them, 59 Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind. 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
