Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
