Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
