Could, then, one whose bosom God has opened wide with willingness towards self-surrender unto Him, so that he is illumined by a light [that flows] from his Sustainer, [be likened to the blind and deaf of heart]? Woe, then, unto those whose hearts are hardened against all remembrance of God! They are most obviously lost in error! 22 Allah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide. 23 Is he then, who will confront with his face the awful torment on the Day of Resurrection (as he who enters peacefully in Paradise)? And it will be said to the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.): "Taste what you used to earn!" 24 Those before them belied, wherefore the torment came on them whence they knew not. 25 and thus God let them taste ignominy [even] in the life of this world. Yet [how] much greater will be the [sinners'] suffering in the life to come - if they [who now deny the truth] but knew it! 26 And indeed We have put forth for men, in this Quran every kind of similitude in order that they may remember. 27 An Arabic Qur'an, wherein there is no crookedness, that haply they may fear. 28 God sets forth a parable: there are two men -- one belonging to many masters, all disagreeing with one another, and the other belonging entirely to one master: are those two equal in comparison? Praise be to God! But most of them have no knowledge. 29 (O Prophet), you are destined to die and they too are destined to die. 30 then, on the Day of Resurrection, you shall dispute before your Lord. 31
