So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
