▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
But for him who lived in awe of the sublimity of his Lord, there will be two gardens -- 46 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - 47 [two gardens] of many wondrous hues. 48 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 49 therein two fountains of running water -- 50 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 51 In which are fruits of all kinds, each of two varieties. 52 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 53 They shall recline on couches lined with brocade, and within reach shall hang the fruits of the two Gardens. 54 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 55 In the midst of these shall be maidens with modest, restrained glances; maidens whom no man or jinn has ever touched before. 56 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 57 As (lovely as) rubies and as (beautiful as) coral. 58 Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 59 Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness? 60 Which of the laudable attributes of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 61 And besides these two there shall be two other Gardens. 62 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 63 Dark-green. 64 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 65 In both of them are two springs gushing forth. 66 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 67 In which will be the fruit, date-palms and pomegranates. 68 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 69 In them are good and beautiful women - 70 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 71 Fair ones, confined in tents. 72 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 73 Undeflowered by man or by jinn before them, -- 74 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 75 [In such a paradise will they dwell,] reclining upon meadows green and carpets rich in beauty. 76 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 77 Blessed is the Name of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Grace. 78
