In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 Eat and enjoy for a while: You are certainly sinners. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
