The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the Great News 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
