The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it, 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
