The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
