Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
