The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
