The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
