A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable shall the fellows on the left hand be! 41 [They will find themselves] in the midst of scorching winds, and burning despair, 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 For, behold, in times gone by they were wont to abandon themselves wholly to the pursuit of pleasures, 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?- 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: "Indeed, the earlier and the later generations 49 Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day." 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 Drinkers even as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This is their entertainment on the day of requital. 56 We have created you, why do you not then assent? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 from replacing you by others like yourselves or changing your forms and re-creating you in forms that you know nothing of. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 Rather, we have been prevented' 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 70 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
