Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ HALLOWED be He in whose hand all dominion rests, since He has the power to will anything: 1 who created death and life that He might examine which of you is best in deeds, and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” 10 So will they confess their guilt. Deprived (of all joys) will be the inmates of Hell. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 AND [know, O men, that] whether you keep your beliefs secret or state them openly, He has full knowledge indeed of all that is in [your] hearts. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
