S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies! 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: 14
