Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a high garden 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
