Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 And such fruits as they desire. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 The Day of Judgement. 40
