And when We commanded the angels, “Prostrate before Adam” – so they all prostrated, except Iblis; he refused. 116 Then We said: "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery. 117 In Paradise you will experience no hunger, nakedness, 118 and that thou shalt not thirst here or suffer from the heat of the sun." 119 So the devil incited him, saying, “O Adam, shall I show you the tree of immortality and a kingdom that does not erode?” 120 Then the twain ate thereof; so there became disclosed to them their shame, and they began sewing upon them selves some of the leaves of the Garden, so Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred. 121 Thereafter his Lord exalted him, accepted his repentance, and bestowed guidance upon him, 122 He said, “Both of you go down from heaven, one of you is an enemy to the other; then if the guidance from Me comes to you – then whoever follows My guidance, will not go astray nor be ill-fated.” 123 "But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment." 124 He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?" 125 He will say: Even so, Our communications came to you but you neglected them; even thus shall you be forsaken this day. 126 Thus We shall reward the transgressor who denies the signs of his Lord. But the suffering of the life to come is more terrible and more lasting. 127 Is it not a warning for them to see how many generations living before them We destroyed and how they are now walking in their ruins? In this there is the evidence (of the Truth) for the people of reason. 128
