The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
