Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
