The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created the human 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
