I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mortals, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
