Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
