He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 you attend to him, 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And hath fear, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
