And indeed Nooh prayed to Us so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
